Version History

What's new in Audio Transcription Recorder, newest first. Version numbers match the release name shown on the app's About screen and on Google Play.

1.1.1

Latest
  • Stability fix for live captions: starting a recording with captions turned on is now reliable on all builds.
  • Vosk on-device transcription is fixed and fully supported for both live captions and batch transcripts.
  • If a background transcription pass is interrupted, your live-caption draft is now kept instead of being lost.

1.1.0

  • Live captions while recording. On-device text appears as you speak, with the still-forming words shown in a muted style. Toggle it on the Record screen.
  • Instant transcripts. When live captions are on, stopping saves the transcript immediately with no waiting; other engines quietly refine it in the background.
  • Rebuilt recording engine with real-time audio level metering, keeping the same audio format and pause/resume behavior.
  • All on-device components updated for Google Play's 16 KB memory page-size requirement.

1.0.5

  • Redesigned Record screen with a large circular record/stop button, a single pause/resume toggle, and a clear transcription progress bar.
  • Added rename, plus Share Transcript and Copy Transcript actions on the recording detail screen.
  • Added a confirmation step before deleting a recording.
  • Renamed the advanced engine tools to Engines & Models and simplified engine names throughout.
  • Streamlined the Import and Import Queue screens, durations shown as h:mm:ss, and consistent buttons and feedback across the app.

1.0.4

  • Added an in-app Help screen with direct links to the User Guide, Support, Privacy Policy, Terms, and Data Deletion.
  • Added a Rate on Play Store shortcut from inside the app.
  • Help is now reachable from the overflow menu, Settings, and About.

1.0.3

  • Core release with local-first transcription using Moonshine, Sherpa-ONNX, Whisper local, and Vosk.
  • Optional cloud transcription with your own OpenAI or Deepgram API keys.
  • Recording, importing, a background transcription queue, and transcript editing.
  • Timestamp-linked playback and the ability to re-transcribe a selected time range.
  • Export to TXT, timestamped TXT, PDF, DOCX, or an audio copy.

1.0.0 – 1.0.2

  • Early testing releases that established the app foundation and Play Console setup.
